Tata hosted its’ Annual Family Day on 3rd December 2016. From the first point of contact with Landi, I knew this is the company we will contract on our Family Day. Her expertise and professional advice was of great value to us to make decisions. She even came through to our offices to discuss the quote and ideas she has in store for us. The pre-planning leading up to the event: Landi was always there. Just a phone call away. She always answered our calls and always assisted where possible. The day itself, awesome! Every single attendee enjoyed it. It was so nice seeing the smiles on everyone’s’ faces. The kids enjoyed it as well. There was something to do for everyone, young to old. Blue Naartjie is a company you can always depend on. They stick to their word and strive for perfection at all times. Thank you to Merle and Landi and the rest of the team who was present on the day. Blue Naartjie is a “force to be reckoned with.

Our group was made up of about 18 people, a mixture of academics and administration support staff. It was good to be mixed like this as it stressed the idea that we are a team rather than two op-posing divisions. The weather was bad but the venue had ample indoor space so that we were able to do our outdoors team-building exercises in a large hall. We found ourselves allocated into groups of three in an ingenious and fun manner that avoid-ed the banding together of cliques.

We then had a lot of fun, building and operating a “Mexican railroad” that demanded good team work as well as willingness to help each other. We did this in two big groups of about 9 each and then together with all 18 taking part. We also did some smaller three-member team challenges that were of a more intimate nature and that got us all working together and sharing in our small groups.

After tea, we did a very enjoyable picture painting challenge that lasted the rest of the day. In this challenge, we painted a number of frames that together made up a big picture. We worked in our groups of three but we had to share the tasks among ourselves, help each other as deadlines loomed, and collaborate with other groups to ensure that there was unity of theme/purpose as well as to ensure that colour schemes matched up with adjacent frames being painted by other groups. The final product was the big picture consisting of the component frames all joined together to make the picture. It was beautiful and we will now keep it in our School as a reminder of what we can achieve when we work together, and also of how much fun we had in the process of putting the picture together and working with colleagues.

The following impressions of the day stand out:

• The team building facilitators were flexible, engaging and full of fun.
• The program was well-designed, and perhaps surprising to many of us (as we had not known what to expect and were a bit apprehensive, imagining something like Kamp Staaldraad on valium).
• The choice of activities was fun as well as encouraging participation, collaboration, and helping one another, all the things that make for good team-building.

I am sure we all left with a good feel

Wow, what a wonderful evening we had! Durban greeted us with drizzle and some overcast skies but by the time we got going, the sun went down behind the venue and we had a double rainbow over the sea – the start to a very memorable evening. Cannot believe I actually did it and I seem to be among the vast majority who never pictured them-selves walking across coals but who did it with a smile. If definitely is a talking point and we have had rave reviews about the event…

Duncan is professional and “convincing” as even the CEO attempted it twice and said it was a great night. Thanks to him and Landi – your team is professional and provide an excellent product. THANK YOU again

No one complained so that says it all. This is definitely something to do again, it was very evident that our company needed this kind of brain exercise. The energy was awesome, you and team helped us achieve what we were going for, which was to entertain the learners while still keeping the event educational.

One thing I’ve noted which you also raised, is the importance of giving an idea of the demographic of the attendees so as to better tailor the quiz – as the event was progressing I definitely understood why you asked and why this is important – but I think everyone still faired pretty well and most importantly had a great time!

The Teambuilding was very well organized and they were professional in presenting the teambuilding. My client enjoyed every minute and they were very protective over their own blended wine. Each team actually blended another bottle and they all labelled the wine with the same design which are going to be displayed at their Head Office. When they reach their target in April, they are going to pop open the bottles of wine. I would recommend the Vino Fusion to any corporate for teambuilding.
